A note to my cat, Kirby
Dear Kirby,

I know that this might seem like an odd notion to cat - whose every day is the physical embodiment of the concept of leisure - but us humans generally only receive two days in every week where we may partake in an adequate quantity of sleep. Therefore, I would request that you refrain from walking on my face at 6am on those designated days.

Thanks, and that is all,

My cats haven't gotten that memo either. Spokes will stand on my pillow with her face super close to mine such that her whiskers tickle me and mew or knead my pillow and jump on me then off of me. Jean-Luc will scratch the box spring. Then I throw them out of the bedroom and they'll bang on the door and yowl.

Cats of the world: you will not die if we feed you at 8 or 9 am two days of the week versus your normal 6 or 7 am feeding. We like teh sleep too. kthxbye.

The dumb thing is that we feed our cats in the evening. The only reason why Kirby bugs us is because he thinks he deserves snuggles on his own timetable.

I generally just pull him down into me, we "spoon" for 15 minutes while shakes himself apart purring, and then he gets tired of me and wanders off. I'd still snuggle if he decided to drop in at 8am instead!

I've always thought that a cats job is the obstruction of leisure.

Just as you start to do something interesting, they interrupt.

Maybe it would help if you had a little kitty calendar? Right next to Kirby's bed?
